Autumn House Exchange..

OOOps I didn't realize that it has been so long since I have posted which too be honest I haven't had anything to post about. Of course that all changed yesterday, I received a lovely Autumn House exchange from Heather from the SBEBB. She stitched a lovely pinkeep from Homespun Elegance, I love it. It fits right in with my harvest decorations.

This is a pic of the whole exchange she also sent those cute little pumpkins!! Thanks so much Heather you did a beautiful job!! I wonder where she got those blank little tins?

I have been stitching on my partner's exchange piece but it was just mailed off today so I will have to wait until she gets it before I can share.
But what I can share is I am almost finished with my son's college quilt. ( He hardly calls much less reads my blog no fear of spoiling the surprise)

I am quilting the top right now and am so close to finishing. It is the largest project I have ever done 68"x89". He loves the marching band so I chose fabric that is covered with music notes and instruments. I will post a better picture when I complete it. I am quilting in the ditch since I am not very good at free motion but I am taking my first class Sunday and hope that this old dog can learn a new trick.

Happy stitching, quilting, crafting or whatever!!!
I want to thank everyone that left such kind words for my bunny thanks so much!!

HELLO OUT THERE!!!!

Hello is anybody still out there? Of course you are I am the one who has been missing! I want to thank you all who left me such encouraging comments from my last post! To tell the truth I posted to my blog and I really have not been on the computer since. I guess the best way I can describe it is that stuff has been happening and I have been adjusting. First of all I have good news and bad news, I am going to start off with the positive stuff first.
Thanks Sonda for the award which I just discovered in your comments, I appreciate that you thought of me! Next thanks Mylene for sending me your email it made realize that I need to get busy!!
This is the only finish I have made over the summer has I really have not been stitching a lot. My son said he wanted a bookmark for school so I made him a very tiny biscornu page keeper. It was a whopping one inch! Has anyone made one smaller?? Let me know because I could barely see how to put that one together, see the very large clothespin.

Some other things I have been making, I love primitive country designs and I love to sew. Well, I loved making this cute prim doll. It is a Threadbare Primitives design, it is hard to see from the photo but she has a quirky grin and a skinny sculpted nose. She also smells like a cinnamon cookie, that comes from the process to make her look old. You either love or hate the prim stuff I am a lover of this type stuff and love to decorate my home in it.

Another thing I have jumped into is quilting! My buddy Joanne has been telling me "You need to start quilting..."I did and I am taking a weekly class, this is our first block in a six part series. It is called Garden Friends, I have some more embellishing and finishing on this one then it will be done.

This is needing to be quilted, it is a wallhanging or a pillow I guess whichever way I decide to finish. I really want to learn how to machine quilt and I have been practicing some and plan to take a class in the future.

Well, I guess this is just a highlight of what I have been creating and plan to show progress as I go along. But I need to share my bad news as well. This past Friday my DH and I left to go on a riding trip to the NC mountains with friends, the only summer getaway we had planned. That morning after preparing all of our pets, (dogs, cat and rabbit) for our departure I noticed Flip Flop my holland lop rabbit was not eating. Sometimes he would have a stomach ache and it would pass and he would be ok, so I left him and returned Sunday and found that he had not eat or drank since I had been gone. This was terrible as rabbits must always have moving digestion and I knew that he must have a blockage. Not two hours after I returned he passed and I felt terrible guilt that I was not there. Rabbits sometimes come down with this condition and they must have emergency care as soon as possible. I will miss him terribly and feel miserable in knowing that I was not there to try and save him. He was a funny fellow that showed lots of affection, often chasing me from room to room, circling and humming as he went.

My sweet boy I love and will miss you...

So sorry to have leave on such a sad note, but I do appreciate all that stop and leave comments.
I am sure my next post will not be so far in the future and I plan to stop in and see what you are all up to.
